About Blue Wallpaper Blue Wallpaper Design, Inc. is the pet freelance project of web designer/developer Jack Steadman. Based in Boston, MA, the company was started in April 2002 to give a name to the loosely-bound freelance projects Jack had been taking on since the fall of 2000. In his spare time, Jack is a web developer and designer for Smarter Living, Inc., a Boston-based on-line publisher of objective travel information. In his time at Smarter Living, he has been a part of two major site redesigns; designed all of Smarter Living's HTML e-mail newsletters; helped to develop an extensive proprietary content management system; designed and developed an efficient PHP-based content delivery system; and built a multi-threaded, highly scalable mass-mailing system capable of providing personalized e-mail newsletters to Smarter Living's 1 million subscribers quickly and reliably. Over Blue Wallpaper's two years of existence, Jack has designed and developed a wide variety of custom products: a click-to-donate charity site, online petitions for political organizations, promotional sites for independent films, file- and user-management systems, customized content management systems, and many others. He is currently working on an easily-customizable, open-source content management framework which will facilitate quick and easy site rollouts and non-technical site maintenance.
